Vier Sterne Deluxe Records was founded in 2011 by friends Simon Bohnsack (DJ Kaito) and Max H. (DJ Sheldon). Active as a label in 2012 with the release of the TrashTape "DJ Kaito Nr.1", it grew with every subsequent release. Sometimes, short forms like VSDeluxe Records or just VSD were used on the releases.

With the title "6 October (Tag der Nation)", DJ Kaito created the first successful song in the history of Vier Sterne Deluxe Records in 2012, which currently has more than 10,000 views on YouTube and over 3,000 (mostly free) downloads.

In October 2016, Vier Sterne Deluxe Records partnered with the download platform INICAT. The DISS EP by DJ Kaito skyrocketed to number 1 of the INICAT charts upon release and stayed a few weeks in the top 5.

In December 2016, the label partnered with CDBaby to put future releases of their artists on mature platforms like iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. They also made their CDs available in the USA and other places in the world.

After one year, in January 2018, Vier Sterne Deluxe Records made their first deals with record and CD stores to distribute their artists' CDs in Germany. They introduced their own B2B store, and more stores partnered with them throughout the year. In late 2018, they expanded to the Netherlands.

In 2021, the label had the opportunity to cooperate with the German animation studio Dingo Pictures to bring their movies back to life. Since then, they have been glad to publish their movies as audiobooks/radioplays. They also started selling Pro-CDRs (PCDR), a format that is the new standard of their distribution partners since late 2020. These were produced by a third-party company.

In the beginning of 2022, Vier Sterne Deluxe Records partnered with FAIRE.com to get into more markets and reach new stores. Later that year, they started their own music on Pro-CDR production, becoming independent again in this field. Their normal CD production was stopped.

Today, they have 15 direct partner stores and reach over 10,000 stores around the world with their distribution partners.

With Vier Sterne Deluxe Records, the music is recorded independently, in their in-house studios, edited, and mixed. The music videos are also produced in-house.

Where others stop at this point and leave the rest to others, they go one step further: they produce their CDs themselves, in painstaking manual work. To save the environment, a large part of the components for the finished CDs consists of second-hand goods, which must pass a strict test for reusability.

Each CD is also individually checked for playability after completion to ensure that it runs perfectly. We also decline to wrap the CDs due to the waste of plastic.

We also coordinate the marketing, at least in Europe. For other countries (for example, the USA) and digital distribution, CDBaby, Ditto Music, Alliance Entertainment, and others actively support them.
